Running a small business can be expensive! I get it. Sometimes you need something that is good enough for now. So, I decided to put together the free ones I know about into this blog post. I will keep this updated so keep checking back!
Important note: law can be complicated. This blog post is not legal advice and you should always run stuff past a professional before relying on it. That said, I'm happy to review any materials on this page and customize it for your business, send me an email!
There are a couple areas where you really should see a lawyer and I don't recommend using something from online without legal review. A good general rule? Anytime money, ownership, or risk is involved - talk to a lawyer before signing.
These are very location dependent and mistakes mean thousands of dollars in fines and legal fees. Please don't mess around here. If you can hire, you can spend the $200 to have someone review.
This is a technical area of law and you need a professional. I would say even a specialized lawyer, especially when you are working with something like code and software. This is something that is gambling with your entire business. It is not worth it.
You need, need, need legal advice when you are dealing with ownership. You can break it and you can lose control over your business.
When your business is offering services to another company that involves knowing confidential business information - from photography to bookkeeping.
When you are sharing confidential information about your business - to employees, investors, partners for example!

There are a bunch of other data privacy compliance tasks that are really important and more involved. I can help with those! Follow my here as I will be publishing another blog post around what else you need to be doing for data privacy compliance. Stay tuned!
