These are High Risk - See A Lawyer!

There are a couple areas where you really should see a lawyer and I don't recommend using something from online without legal review. A good general rule? Anytime money, ownership, or risk is involved - talk to a lawyer before signing. 

1) Employment/Contractor Templates 

These are very location dependent and mistakes mean thousands of dollars in fines and legal fees. Please don't mess around here. If you can hire, you can spend the $200 to have someone review. 

2) Intellectual Property

This is a technical area of law and you need a professional. I would say even a specialized lawyer, especially when you are working with something like code and software. This is something that is gambling with your entire business. It is not worth it. 

3) Business Structures/Partners/Sales/Mergers

You need, need, need legal advice when you are dealing with ownership. You can break it and you can lose control over your business. 

Privacy Policy

When to Use

• Now. Just do it now. You definitely handle personal information and you need one. 

Shopify

If you run a Shopify store, they generate a Privacy Policy Template. If you aren't with Spotify, you can get a free copy below. 

TBLS Template

Listen, there are thousands of free Privacy Policies out there. I could charge for this but it seems (1) unfair to all of you and (2) this is probably the easiest part of privacy compliance and it isn't the best use of my skills or your time for us to spend it on the policy. There are a bunch of other data privacy compliance tasks that are really important and more involved. I can help with those!
